Overview

In the fast-paced world of school and work, people often look for ways to relieve stress and boost productivity. Some people like to place a virtual pet on their desktop, while others listen to white noise or soft music to adjust their mood. This project aims to create an application that can help people relax and enhance their learning - a virtual aquarium environment. This virtual aquarium not only provides a serene and relaxing backdrop but also incorporates a variety of interactive elements and visual effects designed to create an environment that helps focus attention.

The main scene of this project was a vibrant aquarium scene that included schools of fish with automated AI behaviour, visualisations synchronised with background music, cartoon-style rendered stroke effects, and vertex shader effects to simulate water surface fluctuations. We also implemented fish animations and water plant swaying effects through shaders, providing users with a visually engaging and interactive virtual environment. Users can rotate the view of the fish tank and change the background music with simple keystrokes, enjoying the visual changes brought about by the rhythm of the music for a unique and relaxing experience.
